Welcome to Matt & Meg's India Adventure!

For those of you who do not know, Matt and Meg are taking off on an awesome adventure though India. We are going to be using this blog as a way to keep in touch with our wonderful friends and family back home, as well as share the different legs of our journey with you as we go. Feel free to comment, ask questions and send us emails!

To Get Started:

January 18, 2011

Much to do!!!! We are in the process of pulling together all the loose ends and starting to tie things together. It has been awhile since either one of us took a grand adventure of this scope, and it is incredible the details, dots and dimensions that must be addressed from every angle. However, after many, many doctors visits, multiple travel-shoe trying on, and endless conversations about hand sanitizer, soaps, flights, ect, we are narrowing down on departure date and starting to feel ready.

So far our itinerary is as follows:

  1. Spend the next few days running around like crazy getting ready.
  2. Pack up the bags
  3. Depart late January 27th for Delhi, India!!!!
  4. Arrive tired and excited in Delhi, January 28th around midnight, catch some zzzzzzz's and head for the Taj Mahal

The red circled area on this map is of Mumbai (North West side of India, about 50 miles from the ocean front) and Pune (aprox 75 miles South East of Mumbai). Fun fact, Mumbai is the most densely populated city in the world. Matt's work is in Pune, about a 3 hour train ride from Mumbai. After a short 24hour cycle in Delhi, we will be traveling to Pune to stay for a few weeks. The "small" neighboring city of Pune is home to 12 million some inhabitants and is considered to be the western, tech center of India.

Here are a couple interesting articles to learn more about Mumbai and Pune.
